there is something pure and simple about taking 1 single piece of gear from your set-up and really honing in on the sounds produced by that alone. for part 2 of the standalones series i am playing a CWM: NOISE DRONE SYNTH made by spatiosonic. this is a weird one-off piece of gear that never really sounds the same each time i power it up. "CMOS 40106 and 4093 IC chips cross-modulated in various ways. 2 Quasi-LFO's modulate and "mix" together to get surprisingly messed up sounds.
Custom, hand-fabricated perforated 18 Gauge steel enclosure with 1/2" thick HDPE (cutting board plastic) end cheeks." affectionetly known around the house as the "cutting board synth". still recorded in the early morn' watching "Ultraman fight scene only" videos on my laptop. again, this is Part 2 of an ongoing project of Standalones where i will explore single pieces of my gear and the limits and ranges contained within each. thanks for listening.
